KLP Group is led by its Founder & Managing Director, K L Pradeep, who started the group’s flagship company, KLP Finance, in 1995 in a modest way and has since built it into an established name in financial services across Thiruvananthapuram. That same steady, values-first approach has guided the group’s growth into new ventures, including KLP Residency.
Outside the business, K L Pradeep is a keen traveller and trekker, with journeys across Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia, which he documents on his YouTube channel. That first-hand experience of hospitality in all its forms — from mountain trails to city hotels — carries through into the guest-first thinking behind KLP Residency.

Kazhakkoottam: A Place With History

where heritage meets the future

Long before it became Kerala’s IT gateway, Kazhakkoottam was the seat of a local chieftain, Kazhakkoottathu Ugran Pillai — one of the Ettuveetil Pillamar, the “Lords of the Eight Houses,” who held considerable sway in the Travancore court. In the late 18th century, Ugran Pillai was among the nobles who rose against the Travancore ruler, King Marthanda Varma. After the rebellion was put down, the king had Ugran Pillai’s palace at Kazhakkoottam destroyed, and a pond was dug in its place. According to local history, Marthanda Varma later built a Sree Krishna temple nearby, said to have been an act of atonement.
Both the pond and the temple have endured for generations and remain part of Kazhakkoottam today. For those who live in or visit the area, the temple isn’t just a historical footnote — it’s a living part of the neighbourhood, a short distance from KLP Residency, and a place many locals still visit for daily worship and festival celebrations. Its presence gives Kazhakkoottam a quiet sense of continuity: a centuries-old place of faith standing alongside the glass-and-steel campuses of Technopark that have since made this stretch of Thiruvananthapuram synonymous with modern industry.

Why Kazhakkoottam

connected to opportunity.

KLP Residency stands barely a kilometre from Kazhakkoottam Junction, where NH66 meets the main road into Thiruvananthapuram city — one of the busiest, best-connected junctions in the district. It’s minutes from Technopark, India’s largest IT park by developed area, and from the upcoming Technocity township, making the property a natural fit for companies housing guests, executives or long-stay staff working in the IT corridor.
The location also keeps residents close to the city’s essentials and landmarks: Lulu Mall is about 7 km away for shopping and entertainment, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre are both under 15 km away, Kazhakkuttam railway station is nearby, and the beaches at Thumba and St. Andrews are a short drive out. For anyone needing a comfortable, well-connected base near Technopark — for a few weeks or a few years — Kazhakkoottam offers rare convenience without losing its character as a place with genuine history and community.
